Saayam - Woven Project
Saayam is a rug project for a natural dying brand "Amma". The two key elements of project Saayam were Natural dyeing and different weaving techniques in basic 4 shaft loom. The materials used process was wool, cotton, and natural dyes from plants and vegetables.
Natural dye with Avocado, Madder root, Red cabbage, and Mari gold
Swatches with different techniques were explored and combined together which gives a depth in the sample and also a patchwork look in a woven fabric.
